JELAJAHNEWS.ID – Menteri Komunikasi dan Informatika (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi diminta mengutamakan penyelesaian proyek pembangunan base transceiver station (BTS) yang tengah dilakukan oleh Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika (Kominfo).
Hal itu disampaikan Presiden RI Joko Widodo (Jokowi) usai melantik Budi Arie Setiadi sebagai Menkominfo dan Nezar Patria sebagai Wakil Menteri Komunikasi dan Informatika (Wamenkominfo), di Istana Negara, Jakarta, Senin (17/07/2023).
“Saya ingin, yang pertama, di Kominfo penyelesaian BTS itu harus diutamakan. Penyelesaian hukum silakan berjalan, kita hormati proses hukum, tetapi penyelesaian BTS-nya juga harus tetap berjalan,” ujar Presiden.
Presiden menekankan, pembangunan BTS di seluruh tanah air, terutama di daerah terdepan, tertinggal dan terluar (3T) sangat penting untuk memberikan pelayanan komunikasi digital kepada masyarakat.
“Jangan sampai kita sudah ada peristiwa hukum, BTS-nya juga terbengkalai. Ini yang saya enggak mau. Ini tugas beratnya di situ,” ujarnya.
Selain tugas melanjutkan proyek pembangunan BTS, Presiden juga meminta Budi Arie untuk memastikan Indonesia dapat beradaptasi dengan perubahan dunia yang sangat cepat, terutama di bidang informasi dan teknologi komunikasi (TIK).
“Yang berkaitan dengan kedaulatan data, yang berkaitan dengan artificial intelligence, yang berkaitan dengan frekuensi, yang berkaitan dengan satelit, semuanya bisa segera dirampungkan dan dituntaskan,” ujarnya.
Presiden meyakini kehadiran Wamenkominfo Nezar Patria yang memiliki latar belakang sebagai jurnalis dan direksi badan usaha milik negara (BUMN) serta satuan tugas (satgas) di bidang TIK dapat mempercepat penyelesaian program-program strategis di Kemenkominfo dalam sisa waktu yang kurang dari satu setengah tahun ini.
“Semuanya bisa dikejar, dipercepat semuanya, sehingga sudah ada wamen pun kita tambah satgas,” tandasnya.(skb)
