JELAJAHNEWS.ID – Ketua Komisi Nasional Perlindungan Anak (Komnas PA) Arist Merdeka Sirait, meninggal dunia di Rumah Sakit Polri Kramatjati, Jakarta Timur, Sabtu (26/8/2023).
Kabar meninggalnya Arist Merdeka Sirait dibenarkan oleh Staf Komnas PA, Raihanif Putra.
“Telah berpulang ke rumah Tuhan, Bapak Arist Merdeka Sirait pada hari Sabtu, 26 Agustus 2023 di RS Polri Kramat Jati, Jakarta Timur jam 08.30 WIB,” kata Raihanif
Raihanif mengungkapkan, Arist meninggal karena sakit. Tetapi, tidak dijelaskan penyakit yang diderita Ketua Komnas PA tersebut.
Arist Merdeka Sirait sebelumnya memang mendapatkan perawatan di RS Polri. “Untuk rumah duka RSPAD Gatot Subroto,” ujar Raihanif.
Raihanif mengatakan, rencananya jenazah Arist Merdeka Sirait bakal disemayamkan di Pemakaman Keluarga yang terletak di Porsea, Toba, Sumatera Utara.
Diketahui, Arist Merdeka Sirait (11 Juni 1960 – 26 Agustus 2023) adalah seorang aktivis Indonesia.
Ia merupakan Ketua Komisi Nasional Perlindungan Anak (Komnas PA) menggantikan Seto Mulyadi pada tahun 2010, setelah menjabat sebagai sekretaris jenderal selama 12 tahun atau tiga periode sejak tahun 1998.(***/jn)
