JELAJAHNEWS.ID – CEO SpaceX sekaligus Tesla Inc, Elon Musk, tiba di Bandara Internasional I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Bali pada Minggu (19/5/2024). Kedatangan Elon Musk tiba di Bali untuk menghadiri World Water Forum ke-10.
Kedatangan Elon Musk tersebut disambut langsung oleh Menteri Koordinator Bidang Kemaritiman dan Investasi (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Panjaitan.
“Saya berkesempatan menjemput Elon di Bandara pagi ini dan kemudian membicarakan beberapa agenda beliau selama di sini dan tentunya beberapa kerja sama penting,” jelas Menko Luhut di Bali, Minggu (19/5/2024).
Menurut Luhut, Elon Musk dijadwalkan menjadi pembicara pada pembukaan World Water Forum ke-10.
Selain menghadiri penyelenggaraan World Water Forum ke-10, Luhut menyampaikan bahwa Elon Musk menghadiri peluncuran salah satu kerja sama penting yang dilakukan, yaitu peresmian layanan internet Starlink yang mampu menjangkau hingga pelosok Indonesia.
“Peresmian peluncuran Starlink akan dilakukan Elon bersama Presiden hari ini di salah satu Puskesmas di Denpasar, Bali,” ujar Luhut.
Kerja sama ini sebagai bentuk pemerataan di seluruh provinsi di Indonesia yang akan terintegrasi dengan pelayanan kesehatan dan pendidikan. Dengan begitu, kedua layanan ini diharapkan dapat terus meningkat.
Menko Luhut berharap melalui peluncuran Starlink ini, masyarakat di daerah terpencil bisa menikmati akses informasi dan jaringan internet secara cepat seperti dengan penduduk yang tinggal di kota besar.
Sebagai informasi, internet Starlink adalah layanan internet satelit yg dikembangkan oleh SpaceX yang merupakan perusahaan teknologi milik Elon Musk. Starlink ini menggunakan konstelasi satelit rendah bumi (LEO) untuk menyediakan akses internet berkecepatan tinggi ke berbagai daerah di seluruh dunia, terutama di daerah-daerah terpencil.
Hadirnya internet ini khususnya untuk membantu masyarakat Indonesia yang kurang mendapatkan akses layanan internet. Nantinya, pengguna Starlink hanya memerlukan perangkat penerima kecil yang dikenal sebagai “dish” untuk dapat terhubung ke jaringan satelit, dengan begitu masyarakat Indonesia dapat menikmati koneksi internet yang cepat dan andal.
