JELAJAHNEWS.ID – Pemerintah Pusat dan Daerah mendapat instruksi untuk memperbanyak kegiatan pasar murah.
Menurut Presiden, langkah tersebut diambil pemerintah dalam rangka antisipasi menghadapi fenomena iklim El Nino.
“Saya telah memerintahkan kepada BUMN, juga kepada gubernur, seluruh gubernur, bupati, dan wali kota untuk memperbanyak pasar-pasar murah di daerah, sebanyak-banyaknya,” ujar Presiden dalam keterangannya setelah meninjau Pasar Rakyat yang digelar di Lapangan Rampal, Kota Malang, Provinsi Jawa Timur pada Senin (24/07/2023) sore.
Selain pasar murah, Presiden juga memerintahkan jajarannya yang memiliki anggaran untuk meningkatkan jumlah pemberian bantuan sembako bagi masyarakat yang membutuhkan. Presiden menyebut El Nino merupakan fenomena iklim yang tidak bisa diprediksi sehingga dibutuhkan langkah-langkah pencegahan terhadap dampak yang akan ditimbulkan.
“Kita berharap kita bisa mendahului agar apabila nanti El Nino datang masyarakat tidak kaget karena memang panasnya bisa mengganggu kesehatan, yang kedua pangan juga bisa terganggu kalau betul terjadi,” ungkap Presiden.
Lebih lanjut, Presiden mengatakan bahwa saat ini beberapa negara telah mengalami dampak El Nino, di antaranya India dan Vietnam yang sudah tidak lagi melakukan ekspor beras.
“Kita tidak berharap kejadian itu terjadi di negara kita sehingga semuanya memang harus dipersiapkan,” ucap Presiden.(**/jn)
